Making our House a Home

'My Favourite Place' Pillow from Hello Polly

'My Favourite Place' Pillow from Hello Polly

In October last year Michael and I bought our first home. Yay! Since the moment we signed the contract I have been obsessed with the idea of renovating and restyling. But something strange happened. I have become totally content with our green shagpile carpets and red toilet. Hmmmmph So for now we're holding off a little on the renovations inside, and are playing with some ideas for our outdoor area.

I love home styling, my style is a little different to the average, and the long term pictures I have in my mind for our home are constantly changing, but I also love the 'working with what you've got' concept and taking on the idea of embracing the style that's already here. With all of this being said, I thought I would share my favourite online home wares stores with you. Little pieces from there stores have helped me pull together a relatively cohesive 'modern' look, that embraces the 70's decor of our home with the furniture pieces we already have.

I'll share some pics of our home soon, but for now here are my top 5 online stores for home decor.

Hello Polly

Such a diverse range of goodies, with lots of pieces that could be used as accents throughout your home. Plus they have a flat rate of $10 for shipping

I particularly love a lot of the artwork on this site and they stock the beautiful KIP&CO range. On my wish list is one of their super cute wall clocks.
