Happy to the Core
Not long ago I experienced something that I wasn't expecting. I was overcome with happiness to the point that I smiled for no apparent reason. I was in the park, by myself and out of nowhere I smiled and I literally lol'ed. I felt grateful, joyous, content, but most of all I felt happiness right into my core. I've never experienced that kind of happiness before and it brought a light into my life that has been burning bright since.
I want to make it clear that I'm not saying that I wasn't happy before, it was more passing moments of happiness. Where now, even when things are hard, I can say that I feel my light of happiness burning in my chest. I'm happy with the person I am, happy with the person I'm becoming and happy with the life I live.
I want you to feel this too, so here are my tips to light your happiness fire!
1. Be kind to yourself
Don't be too hard on yourself, we all make mistakes, and it's ok! It's part of life, and it's not worth beating yourself up about.
2. Connect to your passions
Work out the things you love to do and do more of it! Spend less time focussing on the things that drain your energy and focus on the things that make you feel great.
3. Be kind to others
Say or do one nice thing for someone else each day, without wanting anything in return and I promise your life will feel richer!
4. Take time out for you
Cherish your alone time, and recognise the value in connecting with yourself.
5. Be grateful
Being grateful for your life the way it is right now, will bring you the greatest happiness of all. Focus on what you do have not what you don't.
