Friends meet Dandy. Dandy meet my friends. Dandy tea, more commonly know as Dandelion Tea is a powerhouse of goodness that is a staple in my house. After reading this, you're going to want to go a buy your own; like yesterday!
As the name suggest Dandelion Tea is made of the pretty Dandelion flower and it's roots, and has been consumed for centuries based on it's health benefits. Its quite a dark tea when ready to drink, but the flavour is a lot more gentle, but slightly bitter. You could drink it with honey for something a little more sweet, and I'm sure it also works well with milk. (Of the nut variety of course!) Unlike it's buddy Green Tea, Dandelion Tea is Caffeine Free.
As always I suggest buying organic.
So why should you drink it? There is a massive list of benefits associated with this little beauty, but here are my favourites...
It helps the body fight free radicals that damage our cells. Hello anti-aging, and cancer fighting goodness!
Helps to filter and purify the blood and promotes removal of toxins.
Reduces the build up of toxins from the liver and allows it to excrete easier. This might help you after a big night out?
I don't care much for weight loss, I think if you live a healthy lifestyle your body will find it's ideal weight, but Dandy Tea might assist you in finding that healthy balance. It helps to regulate blood sugar levels, meaning the metabolism works more effectively.
As a follow on effect of improved liver function, Dandy tea improves hormone levels. The liver processes all of our hormones, and if it's sluggish it struggles to maintain balance, and fertility issues are more likely. By improving the liver function it is able to work through the reproductive hormones more effectively and maintain balance within the body. (This is exactly my situation!) It is both a preventer of fertility conditions and also a support for healing.
