I love hot chips, I'm pretty sure I always will. Although I do sometimes like to indulge in the naughty version, (read more about it here) I love making this healthy alternative at home. It's really simple, and very yummy! For the Whole Housewives out there with kiddies, these would be a great afternoon snack.
YOU WILL NEED
- 350g Sweet Potato
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 2 tbsp Coconut Flour
- Himalayan Salt & Pepper to taste
- Half an avocado, or a whole if you love it as much as I do!
Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
Wash sweet potato, and chop into chip shapes. Leave skin on for nutritional value, and a little more crunch. Place in a large bowl.
Add turmeric, coconut flour, coconut oil, salt and pepper. Mix together with your hands covering evenly. NOTE Turmeric can stain easily, so make sure you wash your hands straight away.
Lay chips on an oven tray lined with baking paper. For ultimate crunch make sure none of the chips are touching each other. It's a little more time consuming, but makes a crunchy chip.
Bake for 20minutes, remove from oven and flip over. Keep chips spaced out.
Cook for another 10 minutes until crunchy and delicious!
Serve with smashed avocado, ENJOY!
