3 reasons why quitting your job might be just what you need

I have no doubt this topic is already stirring up some emotion for you. Whether it's contentment because you know it doesn't apply to you, resistance because you know deep down it's true or excitement because I've opened your eyes to something you didn't think was possible. Whatever it is, the fact that something is stirring inside you speaks volumes.

I want to share a story with you. This time last year I realised that I didn't want to do what I was doing for work. I wanted a change, and I wanted to explore a new career path. I was craving something new and it took me twelve months to pluck up the courage to step away from what I knew. When the time came for me to finish up, I didn't have a job lined up and wasn't totally sure what I wanted to do. I didn't know where money would come from, but I felt this deep trust that everything would be ok.

I wasn't really sure whether we would be able to meet all of our bills, and I also knew that my husbands wage wouldn't cover everything. But I did it anyway because I knew that by shutting the door on something I was no longer passionate about, I was opening myself up to new possibilities and at some point I needed to take a leap of faith.

What happened next was nothing short of a miracle, everything fell into place. During the last week of my previous job, a new opportunity pretty much landed in my lap, I didn't even have a break between the two! My new job is exactly what I asked the universe for.

Since showing the world that I was ready for something new, opportunities have continued to come to me, and just two months in to 2015, this year is shaping up to be a very special one.

Does this strike a cord with you? Here are my top 3 reasons why quitting your job and taking a chance could be just what you need!

1. You're unique

Every single person has their own unique set of skills, talents and passions that make us who we are. We're snowflakes, all different and perfect, and in order to live to our full potential we need to embrace our uniqueness to feel fulfilled. Working in a career that you're passionate about will bring about this new level of happiness in your life.

Asses your skills, passions and talents, and bring your ideas together to dream up your perfect career path.

2. Be a part of something bigger

Can you imagine a world where everyone loves their career path? Imagine the encounters you would have each day if everyone you met was working in a role that was fulfilling for them.

I personally believe that there are an abundance of career options available, there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be doing something we are passionate about. Step out of what you don't love and make room for someone else who would love it. Be a part of a global shift to make the world a happier place!

3. You have the chance to feed your soul

Working with a group of people who have similar beliefs and goals to you is incredibly fulfilling. Imagine how you could thrive in an environment where your ideas are appreciated for their passion filled brilliance. Imagine the conversations you would have. Imagine the places you would socialise after work. Feed your soul with the energy it's craving!

I'd love you to share your thoughts on this with me in the comments section below. What is it that has kept you in your job? Do you dream about something different? Have you been brave enough to take a leap of faith? Share you ideas and lessons below, it might be just what someone else needs to hear!

On a side note, assess your own situation, and before throwing your papers in the air and sticking it to your boss, make sure you're truly ready. There's no rush, take your time, pick your moment and make sure that to your core you trust that all will be ok!
