restless nights : and other signs it's time to invest in your happiness

Our bodies are amazing. Incredible beyond our comprehension. They complete the most complex tasks every second of our lives without our even knowing. Truly miraculous! But something that we often don’t tune into, is the power of our bodies intuition. If you just take a moment to step out of your head – the hustle and bustle, the noise, the to do lists, the negative banter, the ego – and into our bodies, we can truly feel the power of our own intuition.

I can 100% attest to my body sending me messages. Subtle at first, but when I ignore them, they get louder, and louder, and louder – until I have no choice but to take notice. In fact, this is what happened to me not too many years ago.

I was faced with mild anxiety, and stress. It progressively got worse. Soon after, I was faced with horrible skin, and restless sleeping patterns. This prompted me to see a naturopath. It was then that I found out I am lactose intolerant and coeliac. I listened (sort of) and changed up my diet to include gluten free, and lactose free options. But just a year or so later, I was faced with a message so loud, I had to take it seriously. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and would require emergency surgery to avoid torsion of my reproductive organs and the possible loss of them all together.

Ok I’m listening.

That was a wake up call. Finally I had to listen. I had no choice. My poor little body had been trying to tell me I needed to make a change for years, until it said ‘enough is enough you need to put yourself first.’

You see, the messages are always there, but most of us don’t spend enough time out of our head, and in our bodies to see them.

Once I started working with my body, both on a physical level, but more so on a spiritual level, I experienced change. And to avoid going into complete detail of my life over the past 6 years, life is amazing now. I’m by far the happiest, most balanced, healthiest version of myself I have ever been.

So how to you tune into the signs from your body, and does everyone really have them? I mean, is this some kind of woo-woo thing I need to do?

Hey! Nothing against woo-woo, I’m a big fan of woo-woo – but if that doesn’t work for you, that’s totally ok! And if it does that’s ok too.

The fact is tuning into your body is a skill. And like any other skill it takes practice.  There’s no magic pill or secret formula.

You need to make a commitment to yourself, and respecting your body like never before.

For a connection to your inner guide, build a relationship and allow more ‘space’ in your mind.
